The Recorder was started by Messrs. R. Rubain, D. Augustus, H. Hughes, J. Martin, and A.B. Place in July 1925; the name of the paper changed to Bermuda Recorder in 1953.
The Bermuda National Library's collection includes a sequence of issues (incomplete) on microfilm and in the digital colletion.
A collection of the early Bermuda newspapers, focusing on the Bermuda Gazette and Weekly Advertiser, Bermuda Gazette, Weekly Gazette and Bermuda Advertiser and The Royal Gazette, Bermuda Commercial and General Advertiser and Recorder.
The Bermuda National Library - Digital Collection includes issues of the Bermuda Recorder (July 1933-July 1975) and the Royal Gazette (1784-1899). These issues plus the Royal Gazette (1900-current), Bermuda Sun (May 1964-current) and Mid-Ocean News (1961-2009) are also available on microfilm at the Bermuda National Library.
